The Day Soiree at the City Center
Remembering Vinegar Hill: The Neighborhood Beneath the Pavement
Saturday April 8 | 10-4pm

The Day Soiree is an annual event hosted by the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center. Each year we combine festival favorites like live music and local vendors with a community-focused educational goal.

This year, the Day Soiree will be “Remembering Vinegar Hill: The Neighborhood Beneath the Pavement.” A documentary screening, scavenger hunt, trivia competition, photo exhibit, and more will help to tell the story of Charlottesville’s lost Vinegar Hill neighborhood.

This event is co-created by students from the Miller School of Albemarle, and it owes much to its sponsors: the Jefferson School City Center, WPVC FM, and Wegmans (who has generously donated a $100 gift card to be given away to a Day Soiree contest entrant).

Admission is free, and all are welcome!
