Day Soiree 2018
The Movement Through Time
Saturday April 7 | 11am-3pm

Join us at the 4th Annual “Day Soiree,” a kid-powered and family-friendly outdoor fest.

Each year the Day Soiree combines festival favorites like music, games, and giveaways with a special educational theme.

The educational theme for 2018 is The Movement Through Time. The Day Soiree will feature activities that highlight the social movements of the 1960s as well as those who are working now to make Charlottesville a welcoming place for all

At this year’s Day Soiree, we invite your family to…

  • Speak your mind with a DIY picket sign station
  • Get in the swing of things in our 1960s selfie booth
  • Get to know local organizations that work for civil rights, human rights, social justice, and equity in our community
  • Design and write a postcard to your local, state, and national representatives
  • Play the same outdoor games that kids loved in the 1960s
  • Dine on Pearl Island/Vu Noodles, and the grab dessert from Kona Ice
  • And more!

The Day Soiree is the product of months of planning and prep work from student volunteers at the Miller School of Albemarle.

Admission is free, and all are welcome!
