Because of Them We Can began in 2013 as photo campaign by artist Eunique Jones Gibson. Intended to run through Black history month, Gibson snapped artistic photos of children dressed as iconic trailblazers and today’s inspirational heroes. Gibson’s images are meant to refute stereotypes and remind people of their greatness. Since then, the campaign has grown into a non-profit media company whose mission is to educate and connect a new generation to heroes who have paved the way. In 2014 the organization began a partnership with American Family Insurance to create an experiential exhibit — the Reimagination Lab.
A traveling version of this exhibit will tour the country with the goal to encourage people of all ages to tap into and reimagine their possibilities.
Exhibition is made possible through the generous support of Blue Moon Fund.
