Some stories are best told by one voice in one room. This November, the Heritage Center becomes that room for two nights of theater. David Vaughn Straughan brings August Wilson’s How I Learned What I Learned to life, a solo performance that takes us inside the life and lessons of one of America’s most celebrated playwrights.
Wilson wrote about ordinary people with extraordinary depth, and here he turns that eye on himself. You’ll hear how the streets, the people, and the odd jobs of his younger years shaped the writer he became. Co-conceived by Todd Kreidler, the piece is funny, tender, and honest, the kind of evening that stays with you on the walk home.
Seats are limited in our intimate space, so don’t wait.
