People-Less Portraits: Youth Art Workshop with Artist Kori Price

Saturday, March 8, 2025

Join us for People-Less Portraits, a special hands-on workshop with artist Kori Price, inspired by her photography exhibition, 807, on view in the JSAAHC contemporary gallery through April 23. In this creative session, kids ages 7-13, accompanied by their parent/guardian will explore memory and identity by making portraits—without drawing people!

Instead, participants will use colors, textures, and objects to represent the people in their lives—family members, neighbors, teachers, or friends. Through collage, mixed media, and storytelling, they’ll create unique artworks that reflect the ways we remember and connect with others.

This workshop encourages young artists to think beyond traditional portraits and express themselves through personal memories, symbols, and materials. No art experience is needed—just imagination.

Agenda for the event:

11am: Tour of 807 led by artist, Kori Price

11:45am: Mixed media and Collage Workshop

12:45pm: Art Share
