Junkanoo School

The JSAAHC Juneteenth Junkanoo School is open to boys and girls ages 6-16. During the four week program, students will learn about parade performance throughout the African Diaspora. They will learn mask making, costuming, and African/African American art and performance history. The five-week course will culminate with a presentation of the children’s accomplishments as part of a mini parade during the Center’s Juneteenth Celebration.

Program Cost

Cost for the 5 session program is $30 per student, which will cover the cost of materials and an after program snack. Depending on funding, scholarships may be available. Parents are also encouraged to participate.
